Tom D. Byrd, MD.

Dr. Byrd is a native of Brownwood and attended public school in Killeen, Texas.

He is a graduate of The University of Texas (Austin) and attended medical school at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.

He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas where he was involved in clinical research.

Tom has practiced medicine in Brownwood since 1995 both in private practice and as a hospitalist where he served as the Director of Hospital Medicine at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Tom has a masters certificate in Global Health and has been involved in clinic development in Burundi (Africa) for a number of years. There he serves as a clinical consultant for The Cornerstone Clinic for The Cries of a Child and is passionate about disease prevention, malnutrition, and community health education.

Michael J. Cloy, PA

Michael is a graduate of Brooke Army Medical Center Academy of Health Sciences, where he was certified as a Respiratory Care Specialist.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies and a master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies.

His training and experience also include service as a hospital corpsman and respiratory care practitioner in the U. S. Navy, as well as extensive clinic work in internal medicine, diabetes care and cardiology.

He is board certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants and is a member of the Texas Academy of  Physician Assistants. 

Michael serves as Board President on the Brownwood ISD Board of Trustees, and on Hardin Simmons University Physician Assistant Program Advisory Board as well as guest lecturing at the HSU PA program and as a clinical preceptor for PA students.

Joe Hubbard, MD

Dr. Hubbard attended the University of Oklahoma where he received a Doctorate of Medicine in 1984 and completed his residency in internal medicine from Texas Tech University in 1987.  

Dr. Hubbard has been practicing in the Comanche area since 2008.  
Before 2008, Dr. Hubbard practiced in Abilene.  

Dr. Hubbard served as a Commissioned Officer, Medical Service Corps in the United States Army Reserve from 1985-1990.  

Dr. Hubbard is an internist and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Abilene Regional Medical Center and Comanche County Medical Center.

He has been providing patent care for more than 20 years.

Elizabeth Vallejo, FNP

Elizabeth has served patients in Central Texas for over 17 Years in the medical field and 7 of those years as a nurse practitioner.

In 2009, Elizabeth graduated from Texas Tech as a nurse practitioner. She completed her Bachelor of Science in nursing degree at Texas Tech in 2006. Elizabeth is an Allied Health Member of the American College of Gastroenterology.

Having more than 11 years of diverse experiences, especially in Nurse Practitioner, Elizabeth is currently affiliated with the Regional Employee Assistant Program in Brownwood Texas, serving as a Nurse Practitioner with Brown County Gastroenterology, and Pediatrics of Brownwood.

Elizabeth is a sensitive and caring provider with exceptional bilingual (English and Spanish) communication skills.

Tammy McCullough, FNP

Tammy  has 17 years of work experience in both Family and Internal Medicine while serving as a Registered Nurse for 23 years.

Tammy graduated from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 1997 with a BSN and an undergraduate degree in business. 

In 2002, Tammy received her Master of Science in Nursing with Family Nurse Practitioner specialty from Patty Hanks Shelton school of Nursing (Hardin Simmons University).

Tammy  has worked with Brownwood Regional Medical Center (BRMC), BRMC-One Source Clinic, and Heart of Texas Internal Medicine.

“I have a passion and love for medicine and caring for others,” Tammy continues, “Even after many years of  serving in this role, I still get very excited to learn new things.” 

She is available to serve patients of all ages at the AccelHealth Clinic located at 3804 Hwy 377 South, Brownwood, Texas.

Whitney Garland, MPAS, PAC

Whitney Garland, PA-C, is a west Texas native but has been in the Stephenville area since 2010.

She received her Bachelor of Science from Tarleton State University in 2013 and Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Hardin Simmons University in 2019.

While at Hardin Simmons she attended a medical mission trip in Peru.

She is board certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants and is a member of the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants.

Whitney is passionate about providing quality, compassionate care.

Brittany Henderson, RDH

Brittany started her dental career ten years ago as a dental assistant.

She attended Howard College in Big Spring, Texas and graduated in May 2018 with an Associates of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene.

She then transferred to Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas and graduated in May 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene.

Brittany is also a member of the PHI THETA KAPPA Honor Society.

While in school, Brittany also volunteered her time at Texas Mission of Mercy (TMOM) and Mission of Arlington; organizations that help provide dental care to people across the state of Texas.

Diana “Cherie” Rowland, LCDC

Diana “Cherie” Rowland, LCDC is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. Cherie received her Associate of Applied Science in Chemical Dependency Counseling from Texas State Technical College in 2009.

Before employment at AccelHealth, Cherie worked in a variety of counseling roles including Clinical Supervisor, Lead Counselor and Counselor Supervisor.

Cherie has experience in group therapy and life skills training and relapse prevention.

Charles Childers, DO.
Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Childers is a Family Medicine Physician and comes to AccelHealth with over 31 years of experience.

He has served 20 of those years with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Brownwood, Texas.

He is Board Certified in Family Practice by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians.  

Dr. Childers is a US Navy Reserve Physician, serving since 05/1989.

Taira Drews, PA-C

Taira Drews grew up in the small town of Stockdale, Texas.

She attended Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas for her Bachelor of Healthcare Administration Degree.

Her family moved to the west Texas area in 2018 where she completed her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Hardin-Simmons University in December of 2020.

During her studies at Hardin-Simmons University she organized and attended a medical mission trip to the Dominican Republic and volunteered with many other community organizations.

Taira is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. 

She is excited and passionate to deliver care to rural communities.

Rogina Gosnell, AGACNP

Rogina graduated from Texas Tech University of Health Sciences Center in 2020 with a degree focus on Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. 

Her AGACNP scope of practice includes both inpatient and outpatient management of acutely ill adult, as well as management of chronically ill patients.

She is excited to serve as a provider in her home community of Brown County and utilize her knowledge and skills to provide quality and compassionate care to her patients.

Jessica Waller, FNP

Jessica is a graduate of The University of Texas Arlington, where she received her Master of Science Nursing specializing in family practice in 2020. 
She received her bachelor’s degree in Nursing in 2017. 

Her training and experience include Radiologic               Technologist and Registered Nurse at Brownwood Regional Medical Center. 

Jessica is a dedicated and experienced nurse with over 19 years of experience in the healthcare field including surgical nurse, radiology, and healthcare management. 

She has an excellent rapport with local physicians, surgeons and healthcare team members in the         community.  Along with providing exceptional medical care for her patients including pediatrics , Jessica is accepting new patients.

Mackenzie Jordan, RDH

Mackenzie has been a dental hygienist since 2015.
She attended Ranger College in Ranger, Texas and graduated in May 2013 with an Associate of Science.

She attended Howard College in Big Spring, Texas and graduated in May 2015 with an Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene.

She then transferred to Tarleton State University at Stephenville, Texas and graduated in December 2015 with a Bachelor of Science.

While in school, Mackenzie also volunteered her time at Texas Mission of Mercy (TMOM) an organization that helps provide free dental care to people across the state of Texas.

Sarah Treviño, LPC-A

Sarah Treviño is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate. Sarah received her Bachelor of Science in Criminology (2013) and Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology (2021) from Texas A&M University-Kingsville.

She worked at the TAMUK Health and Wellness Center as a Student Counselor during her Graduate Senior year.

She attended and participated in a week-long Biblical Counseling Training in Lafayette, Indiana for 3 years.

She is a member of the American Counseling Association and the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies.

Sarah is passionate about helping struggling individuals learn the necessary tools to bring balance and healing to their emotional health and well-being.

Lilian Bor, APRN, MBA, MSN, PMHNP-BC

Lilian Bor is originally from Kenya, East Africa. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Cincinnati in 2011. She later pursued graduate studies and earned a Master of Business Administration degree in Healthcare from University of Mary in 2016.  Lilian received a Master of Science in Nursing from University of Texas at Arlington in 2021. 

Lilian is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Across the lifespan). She has received a controlled substance registration certificate (DEA) as well as MAT Waiver for medication assisted treatment of substance use disorders. 

She volunteered at the Red-Cross at Blanchfield Army Community hospital in Kentucky and at a diabetes screening clinic in Kenya. 

Lilian is married and has 3 children, ages 9, 3 and 1. She enjoys spending time with family on her free time.

Dr. Rami Koro

Dr. Rami Koro is originally from Jordan, where he was born and raised.

He completed his dental education and practiced dentistry there before moving to the United States.
Dr. Koro is a general, restorative, and cosmetic dentist.

He graduated from Loma Linda university school of dentistry in California, and since then has completed numerous continuing education programs to refine his skills as a dentist.

Dr. Koro has provided services for patients in need, in the suburbs of Chicago, before moving to Dallas 2 years ago.

He is dedicated to evidence based practice combined with compassionate care.

In his spare time he loves to travel and spend time with his family.

Michelle Jacobs, LPC

Michelle received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2011 and Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Tarleton State University in 2016.
 
She is originally from Rhode Island and has resided in Stephenville, TX with her family since 2012. She served for 11 years in the U.S. Navy, and has worked for a variety of behavioral health care settings as a counselor, providing care for a wide range of behavioral health concerns.
 
Michelle is passionate about providing ethical and evidence-based therapy to her clients based on each individuals’ needs. She continues to expand her knowledge of behavioral health practices through continuing education, as well as keeping current with new developments in the behavioral health field.
 
She is board certified by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors and is a member of the Texas Counseling Association.

Derek Jesko, LPC-A

Derek received his Bachelor of Behavioral Science in Psychology in 2017 and Master of Clinical Counseling and Marriage & Family Therapy from Hardin-Simmons University in 2019.

He is passionate about collaborating with patients in an effort to help them make informed decisions, maximize their potential, and live a life of authenticity.

During his time at Hardin-Simmons University, Derek was a member of the Psi Chi National Honors Society for Psychology and participated in community outreach efforts in Abilene, New York City, and Dundrum, Ireland.

Derek is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate certified by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors dedicated to utilizing an integrative approach in which research-backed treatment modalities and techniques are tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.

Roy Byrd, MD

Dr. Roy Byrd is a native of Brownwood, TX and is a graduate of Brownwood High School.

He graduated in 2010 from the University of Texas at Austin, and spent the following year as a medical research assistant in the Department of Trauma Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.

In 2015, he received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas School of Medicine in San Antonio.

Dr. Byrd completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 2018.

He has been practicing medicine in Brownwood since 2018 as a hospitalist at  Brownwood Regional Medical Center. 

Dr. Byrd is board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
